• When applying in person, please carry originals of all the supporting documents, photocopies of which you are enclosing with the application.  The originals have to be presented to the Consular Officer
  • Money order; or cashier’s cheque in favour of the ‘Consulate General of India, San Francisco’ for the service desired.  The Consulate does not accept credit cards or personal cheques or any other banking instruments
  • A stamped self-addressed USPS Express Mail envelope if the finished consular documents are to be mailed
  • The Consulate learns that some agents are claiming to have been appointed by the Consulate General of India and are misleading the public by claiming so.  The Consulate informs all the applicants that no repeat no agents have been appointed by the Consulate and that the Consulate deals with members of the public directly.
