CKGS is the only authorized Service Provider for the Embassy of India and its Consulates across the USA for Visa, OCI, Renunciation of Indian Citizenship services from May 21, 2014. Applicants based on their jurisdiction can submit their applications to our 6 centers. Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco & Atlanta.

  • Diplomatic and Official passport holders may submit applications directly to the Indian Consulate in San Francsico on all working days. For more details, Please click here:

How to use the CKGS Website?

You must apply only on the CKGS website. www.in.ckgs.us

Do not go directly to the Government of India website to fill the online application. You must go via the links on the CKGS website provided below. You will be directed to the Government of India website to fill your online form/s at the appropriate step via the CKGS website.

 

For USA applicants, the CKGS website has been customized so that service category, type, duration, fees and documents checklist are displayed. The supplementary documents, forms and letters requirements are as per the instructions of the Embassy of India in USA. Simply fill in the widget and it will guide you through the entire application process.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Editing of applicant's personal information WILL NOT be allowed after their applications are physically received at the CKGS Passport Application Center.
  • The application will be REJECTED on technical grounds if there is a variance with information in passport.
  • The rejected application will be returned back to the applicant and they will have to redo the entire process.
  • You must submit your visa application within 90 days from the date online application is filled. Your application may not be accepted if you use online application form which is filled 90 days ago.

 

Please Note:

  • Any variance in the data mentioned in the applicant's passport and that mentioned in the online application form will be the sole responsibility of the applicant and they have to ensure that the data is validated correctly before sending their application to CKGS Center. CKGS will not undertake any 'Edits' in the applications.
  • In these cases CKGS Service fee, convenience fee (bank charges for online payment) and any shipping fee purchased through CKGS will be non-refundable (which will be used to ship back the application to the applicant).
  • Information on the government online Visa application form, your existing passport and all supplementary forms must be identical.

 

COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID

This is not an exhaustive list. You have to ensure data on visa application form is 100% accurate and correct. 

  1. NAMES DO NOT MATCH THOSE IN YOUR US/NON-US PASSPORT: The names that you enter on the application on the application must match exactly that which is printed in your passport. Below is an example;

    Surname: Surname is the same as Family Name or Last Name. (The spelling must be exactly the same as the last name in the applicant’s US/Non-US passport)

    Given Name: On the Indian Visa application Form, Given Name is the same as First Name and Middle Name; please type in the First Name and any Middle Name(s) here. (The name must be exactly as it is in the applicant’s US/Non-US passport)
     
  2. SIGNATURES: You must sign your name, exactly as in your passport, on the first page and second page of the visa application. There must not be any variation between signature on the US/Non-US passport and on the Visa application form.
     
  3. CORRECT DATE FORMAT: Date format will always be DD/MM/YYYY and not MM/DD/YYYY.
     
  4. PASSPORT NUMBER: Ensure correct passport number is entered.
     
  5. PHOTOGRAPH: if photo is uploaded online then it must be identical to the photograph affixed on the form.
     
  6. CROPPED PRINTING: Make sure that your print the entire application. Some browsers will “crop” the top and bottom of them form. “Cropped” forms will be rejected.
     
  7. SINGLE SIDE PRINTING: Ensure that you print application or other forms / documents on single sided paper. Double sided printed application may lead to reject or delay in application processing.
     
  8. PLACE/ COUNTRY OF BIRTH DO NOT MATCH THOSE IN YOUR PASSPORT: The COUNTRY/ PLACE OF BIRTH that you enter on the application on the application must match exactly that which is printed in your passport.
     
  9. PARENTS’ and/ or SPOUSE’S FULL/ COMPLETE NAMES- Applicants must include their parents’ full names showing their given names and last/ surnames
     
  10. PRESENT OR PERMANENT ADDRESS ON THE VISA APPLICATION FORMS DO NOT MATCH ADDRESS ON PROOF OF RESIDENCE DOCUMENT/S

Emergency Visa Service - Eligibility

Embassy of India grants an Emergency Service only under the following circumstances:

-  For medical emergency

-  For unfortunate incident of loss of life

-  To attend to legal matters concerning self

 

Note:  Whether or not the circumstance is considered to be eligible for Emergency visa service is entirely at the discretion of the Embassy of India. Please follow the process as defined to avoid delays in processing of your application.

DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL/LAISSEZ-PASSERS PASSPORT HOLDERS:

THE EMBASSY AT WASHINGTON, DC AND CONSULATES GENERAL AT NEW YORK, SAN FRANCISCO, CHICAGO AND HOUSTON WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE AND SERVICE VISAS I.R.O DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL/LAISSEZ-PASSERS PASSPORT HOLDERS.

If you are applying on Diplomatic/Official/Laissez-Passers Passport at Consulates General of India at Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, New York or San Francisco, then please visit their respective websites for instructions regarding application process. 

The Visa would be processed expeditiously & will be ready for pick-up normally after a week viz. minimum FIVE business days from the date of submission. However, it may please be noted that all Diplomatic & Official Visa Application cases require mandatory clearance of the relevant wings of the Embassy/ &/or Ministry under Govt. of India and may take more time. It is advised that all Diplomatic/ Official Visa applications be submitted well in advance of the travel date. 



All Visa applications of Official/Diplomatic passport holders must invariably be accompanied with following documents:

  1. Applications for Diplomatic and Official Passports may be filled up online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in website. A print out of the application form, along with other documents may be submitted directly in the Embassy. An Original note from the U.S. Department of State must be provided with the application.
  2.  This form is to be used by Official/Diplomatic/UN LP Passport holders only. It will not be accepted at COX   & KINGS GLOBAL SERVICES PVT. LTD.
  3.  All Official/Diplomatic applications must be submitted along with a Letter from Department of State
  4.  Fill and attach the Additional information form
  5.  Fill and attach the following form
  6.  Letter of invitation from Indian agencies in case of bilateral visits
  7.  The passport should be valid for a minimum period of 180 days and must have 2 blank pages in which   one page is required for affixing the visa sticker and another page will be used by immigration officer at   the airport for entry and exit stamp from India.

 

Guidelines for individuals working in designated U.S. agencies or technology areas applying for visa to visit India (Persons belonging to the above categories* applying for visa for India are required to submit their application at least two weeks in advance to enable timely process of their cases. This would come into effect from February 01, 2008. )
Apart from submitting their passport and online visa application, the individuals shall be required to submit the following additional information: -
